Why Trump Has a Problem With Mail-In Voting

President Donald Trump has escalated his years-long crusade against voting by mail, threatening action to restrict its use in federal elections nationwide. On Aug. 18, he wrote in a Truth Social post that “ELECTIONS CAN NEVER BE HONEST WITH MAIL IN BALLOTS/VOTING,” and promised to sign an executive order “to help bring HONESTY to the 2026 Midterm Elections.” There’s no evidence that mail-in ballots are used to commit voter fraud on a large scale in the US.
